I scheduled a mammogram and annual appointment on April 9th for July 10th, which was the earliest available date. After waiting for three months, I discovered on the day of the appointment that only my mammogram was scheduled, and my annual appointment disappeared. After multiple attempts and long hold times, I finally spoke to two representatives. One informed me that Dr. Halle’s nurse had canceled my appointment, while the other claimed that I had canceled it.AAOBGYN’s system and emails do not provide an option for patients to cancel appointments themselves; they only instruct to call for cancellations and rescheduling. Additionally, AAOBGYN does not send emails when appointments are canceled. I was asked to get a separate hormone consultation because the doctor would not discuss hormone issues during the annual appointment. After all this, I have decided to get another obgyn and want all my medical records from the last 2 year visits to be emailed to me.

Important Insurance Update – Aetna & BCBS-TX Patients
 
Austin Area OBGYN wants to inform our patients that our contracts with Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBS-TX) are currently scheduled to end in early 2026 due to unsuccessful negotiations on updated reimbursement rates.

What you should know:

Aetna
  • We remain in-network through February 1, 2026
  • After that date, unless an agreement is reached, we may be considered out-of-network
  • Certain patients, including those 24+ weeks pregnant, may qualify for continuity-of-care coverage

BCBS-TX
  • We remain in-network through February 3, 2026 for PPO and HMO plans
  • We remain in-network through May 4, 2026 for Blue Advantage (BAV) plans
  • After those dates, unless an agreement is reached, we may be considered out-of-network
  • Certain patients, including those 24+ weeks pregnant, may qualify for continuity-of-care coverage
