Dr. Karen Cuartas grew up in Katy, Texas, in a Colombian-American family. She graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience before earning her medical degree from McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston with the support of the Hispanic American Medical Association of Houston Scholarship. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital in Dallas. During residency, she participated in global women’s health initiatives in Zambia, collaborating with local physicians to advance women’s healthcare through education and surgical training. She was also recognized as a Patient Safety Champion for her commitment to safe, high-quality healthcare.

Dr. Cuartas considers it a privilege to care for women during some of the most important moments of their lives. She believes every patient deserves to feel heard and strives to create an environment where every patient feels comfortable, respected, and empowered to make informed decisions about their health. She looks forward to building lasting relationships with her patients and supporting them through every stage of life. She is proud to serve patients in both English and Spanish.

Outside of the office, Dr. Cuartas enjoys live music, dancing, exploring local parks with her dog, and scuba diving.
