Through the recommendation of a good friend, I met with Dr. Seeker when my husband and I were having fertility issues. The first few appointments had a long wait time, but I believe it was worth it, and it's not a big deal if you bring something to read. I think the wait time is so long because they truly are the best in the Austin area. Dr. Seeker was efficient and polite during the meeting. He explained things directly, concisely, and politely. His wall was covered in pictures of babies and cards from patients thanking him for helping them make their fertility dreams come true. It was an encouraging atmosphere. We scheduled a pelvic laparoscopy with Dr. Seeker, and he found and removed Stage 2 endometriosis. The procedure went very smoothly. Prior to the procedure, I reviewed experiences from other woman who had gone through the same procedure with other doctors and other practices throughout the country, and they all complained of trapped air pain after such a surgery. With Dr. Seeker, I had ZERO trapped air pain. I didn't even have pain at the site of incision. Of course, after the surgery, some things were slightly uncomfortable, but overall, I felt great, and I'm an obese patient who's over 35. I had some bad nausea after I went home, but i was pretty quickly able to get a hydration iv (through a third party), and that cured my nausea pretty immediately. Overall, the recovery was great, and Dr. Seeker was so reassuring when I worried about complications. Dr. Seeker is truly gifted, wise, sharp, and understanding. He really understands women. I'd recommend him to any woman. 5/5 stars!

After the birth of my son, Dr. Seeker checked in on me to make sure all three of us were doing fine and okay. I had my son almost two years ago and I am now getting around to leaving a review. I had zero complications with my c-section and my son came out healthy. I went to an urgent care, an emergency room, and another local OBGYN who couldn't figure out why I was having intense abdnominal pain. After a recommendation from a friend, I went to see Dr Seeker and his team about my issues. At my first appointment, I learned more about my body and my options in 30 minutes than I had in my previous 34 years. They were able to quickly diagnose me with PCOS after showing me on a live ultrasound the multiple cysts, and one golf ball sized cyst that somehow, the other providers had missed. They walked me through options and educated me. For the first time I felt validated and felt like I had a plan in place, with diagnoses that MANY other physicians had missed. Can't recommend them enough if you want to feel heard and know what your options are.

I do wish that they could come up with a system for notifying his patients when he is running really late (which is due to deliveries so outside of his control) but it's frustrating to arrive for an appointment and then wait. I had a 3rd degree tear, Dr. Rogers put me back together perfectly. Caytie's calm voice guided me through my labor so I wouldn't panic during labor. Dr. Deng has superb skill, my epidural went SUPER smoothly. Now I understand why there are so many expecting mothers come to AAOBGYN. This place is putting tremendous efforts and has absolutely amazing abilities to give patients a good environment and top notch health care teams to giving birth. Also, the newly renovated L&D room is very spacious and fancy, whoever did the interior design exactly know what they are doing.

I highly suggest you buy a second bone density machine because you’ve cancelled out on me two years in a row! The nurses said this happens with mammograms, too! It’s crucial you have working machines so you don’t have to reschedule or have women completely skip these tests.

Please know if this was a survey just about her it would be 5 stars. 3 stars feels unfair to her so 4 stars is solely on my experience with Dr. Garcia. However, her nursing staff that I worked with on June 30 and today (Nurse Hodges on June 30 & another nurse who I didn’t catch her name this morning. Just know she has red hair) were rude to me and made me feel very uncomfortable & unwelcome. I used to see Dr.Phillips and loved seeing him over the years. I hoped when I found a new team at AAOBGYN it would be the same experience. Nurse Hodges took no time to get to know me or my history. When I explained I struggle with weight, she said something to the effect “well you need to eat less. You know that right?” And then offered to connect me to a nutritionist who I thought would be a referral to a local office but it was an 1800 program that relentlessly called me. I politely disagreed with her overall care plan (asking me to take hormones versus I wanted to test my hormones first for health and also to get to the bottom of my long bleed periods before I started hormones). Instead of ordering hormone lab tests I was told to come in to speak with Dr. Garcia for permission to run hormone labs since I didn’t want to do Nurse Hodges care plan. I thought it was a strange reply but I complied. When I met with Dr. Garcia she affirmed me it was good timing to get my hormone labs since I’ve been off birth control for about a year and only had two long periods just in the past two months. The nurse who walked me back today didn’t even say hello & practically dropped the door on me. With her back to me walking far ahead, she held a urine cup out & said you need to give us a urine sample. I asked “how come? I gave one a couple weeks ago.” She turned around & started talking in a sarcastic sing-song voice while shrugging “well you gotta do it again.” And again I asked “why though?” And “it’s what Doctor wants” and I said “I can’t walk as fast as you & you’re not even looking at me.” To which she replied “that’s fine.” I asked her if I did something wrong and while she said no - her attitude suggested otherwise. I didn’t appreciate the interaction basically trying to keep up with someone while also being snapped & eye rolled at. Not sure if she’s close to Nurse Hodges and was upset about me disagreeing but it felt very uncomfortable & rude. It brought me to tears in the exam room. I didn’t think disagreeing with a care plan and advocating for my needs was something deserving of this kind of treatment. I overheard her telling doctor I refused to give a urine sample or weight but I explained to Dr. Garcia I’m not a difficult patient - and didn’t mean to refuse, I simply wanted clarity on why another sample was needed when I gave one so recently and that the nurse didn’t explain to me why. The medical assistant was nice to me today & I appreciate that. Doesn’t seem like providing basic professionalism & kindness from the other staff is a lot to ask. Overall - I really enjoy Dr. Garcia & hope I can work with her in the future. But I’m very nervous & uncomfortable about working with her nurse staff.

Dr. Akin has been my doctor for almost 25 years and I trust him, always. That's the most important thing with a doctor, especially in today's medical world where we often feel the lack of personal and compassionate care. And any consistency with one physician. I saw Dr. Akin just yesterday for an issue, and I left feeling better than I did coming in. I not allowing him to ever retire while I am alive.

I started seeing Dr. Gutierrez last May for my first pregnancy as my old gynecologist did not do obstetrics. She was happy to answer any and all questions my husband and I had, and we never felt rushed through our appointments. I also felt lucky as we got to take a peek at our little one at each visit - not just during the typical 12 and 20 week ultrasound screenings. Dr. Gutierrez has great bedside manner and made me feel comfortable and heard throughout my pregnancy. She was not able to attend our delivery since we wound up delivering after hours on another doctors call, but she was great in the following days until our discharge. I’ve since been back to see her for my annual checkup and feel so cared for. I honestly am excited for my next pregnancy knowing she’ll be taking care of my family again.
