Upon graduating from nursing school in 2009, she received her first nursing job at Touro Infirmity in New Orleans, Louisiana on an inpatient women's unit. During that time, she had the opportunity to care for women of all ages and throughout many different life transitions, from the birth of a new baby to a breast cancer diagnosis. It was during that time that she realized her love for women's health and it quickly became a specialty where she knew she wanted to stay.
Melissa received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2009. She completed her education with a Master of Science in Nursing from University of Texas Medical Branch in 2018. She is currently a member of the Texas Nurse Practitioner's Association and Sigma Theta Tau. She is also board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner's Certification Board.
From the first time Melissa started working as a registered nurse for Austin Area OBGYN in 2012, she has had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know our wonderful patients. She has enjoyed being able to walk with women through the full circle of life transitions. She looks forward to her new role as a nurse practitioner and being able to care for women for many more years to come.
